Trying something new!

Let me be God's eyes, ears, hands and legs!
Send me Lord!

"When one women comes out of poverty she brings 4 others with her".

Trades of Hope!  What does that mean to you?  I want to use this blog to show you what Trades of Hope means to me and same information about our artisans. We are learning so much every day about what these women go through in their daily lives. So as you look at the pictures watch their eyes and smiles. To me this is amazing.

Are you thinking about what Trades of Hope means ?

When was the last time that you had to think about where you would get water for your family?
When did you have to make mud pies to feed your children for dinner?
I'm not trying to be a downer but I want to get your attention.

My goal is to be a voice for women who have no voices, to help break the cycle of poverty, and to help women out of poverty!
What goals do you have?

THE SCRIPTURES GIVE US PATIENCE AND ENCOURAGEMENT SO THAT WE CAN HAVE HOPE!Romans 15:4

Trades of Hope was started by 2 wonderful ladies who felt God's calling to do more in this world. He put them on a beach together one day and from there we now have
Trades of Hope.
I'm a CE (Compassion Entrepreneur) selling items for artisans from around the world.
I know that God chose me to be part of this company and I will do what every the Lord leads me to do to help His people. I can't tell you how my heart breaks when I read about a 6 year old girl who is sold by her family to a wealthy family just to clean their houses. The 12 year old who is now in the sex trade because her family could no longer support her or is stolen from the family and they can't find their son or daughter.  One of our artisans was covered in acid all over her face.

 This is her story..
"My name is Jariya. Acid was flung in my face, burning me and dissolving my skin. I am rebuilding my life and it gives me courage to know that I am not alone. I am starting this business so that women like me, many of whom are left to raise their children on their own, can have a chance to earn their own living in safety!"

This beret is for adult sizes but all the girls love it!

Now she makes an item for Trades of Hope but will not let us show her face.      I know what you're thinking. WE HAVE PEOPLE IN OUR OWN BACK YARDS THAT NEED HELP.  You are so right.  We don't just sell items from other countries.

This is Thistle Farms Café located in Nashville, TN.  They are connected to Thistle Farms Store, where  they make items for Trades of Hope to purchase and place in the catalog. Lip Balm is one of the items they make for Trades of Hope. At Thistle Farms you can go through a program to get off the streets but it is a 2yr program. You are expected to go to school, work at the facility, and stay clean. They go to school to learn to use computers and get their GED.
After graduation some of the girls come back to volunteer at the café or in the production of the products.
Stop by for a copy of coffee and a tour.

I have so many artisans I want to introduce to you but for now I will save them for the next blog.

The bible tells us to take care of widows, the poor, and the orphans.
That's what I plan to do!  Now what do you think Trades of Hope means?
